Ian Cunningham 1979 - 2022
In Memorial...and in our hearts
Ian Cunningham was Seasons’ Accounting Technician for almost 10 years, from 2012 through mid-2020. This position is pivotal to a small business, requiring a talent for numbers, attention to detail and a grasp of the overarching goals of the business. Here at Seasons, of equal importance, are the beliefs that folks bring to the workplace regarding respect and compassion for people in their “sphere of influence”.
Ian brought to Seasons an innate talent for bookkeeping and pride in the work that he did, but his biggest gift to us was his natural ability to collaborate and welcome all people into his own “sphere”. These attributes helped him attain a high level of competence in a complex role, and to flourish in his work. He became a well-loved and much appreciated member of an exceptional team of people. It was Ian’s cheery whistle, his jaunty cap, his ready smile, and those tie dyed shirts and mismatched socks that stole our hearts while we had him with us. But it was his compassion, sense of humour, inclusive nature and gentle spirit that forged the lasting bond so many of us feel, holding him as a friend as well as a colleague.
Ian was so many things: a caring friend, a loving partner, a Super Dad, an accomplished musician, and the nicest fellow one could hope to work beside. In keeping with his tradition of Tie Dye Friday, we’ll honour his memory on that day in our own bright colours, our own mismatched socks, and with a nod to his memorial, just outside his old office door on Seasons’ 2nd floor.
