Kathy Abell, Office Manager

Office Manager Kathy, OM for short, has been making things flow in Seasons’ front office since 2006. She worked in the industry from 1994 to 2006 as both a physio aide and a rehabilitation assistant. From Kathy’s perspective, she loves where she works and what she does because it’s her way of contributing toward Seasons’ goal of providing excellent service to clients and funders. “This position keeps me in touch with everyone who works at Seasons in administration and services. We are all part of a team supporting each other and working very hard to maintain high standards.” Kathy can spot a typo or grammatical error from across the street, but she excels at making people comfortable and treating all with respect. Kathy is an outdoors enthusiast, her favourite seasons are summer and fall and she can be found boating, camping, hiking and panning for gold with her family in her other life.

Jaime Nowell, Office Assistant

Jaime joined the Seasons Team in October 2019. After completing her Bachelor of Journalism degree from TRU in 2008, Jaime was hired for a Public Relations positon with a company in Kelowna. From there, her career took a detour and she found herself in an Executive Assistant position. Since then, she has held various administrative roles, in many different sectors including insurance, media, and educational technology. Jaime believes that administrative professionals are the backbone of any organization, big or small, and she is excited to be able to lend her keen eye for organization and details to the Seasons team. Jaime says, “being able to be part of the wonderful team at Seasons and assist them with providing exceptional service to the community in need is a position that I am very excited to be part of!”. While always in search of a new skill to master or trying out the newest technology, Jaime also makes a conscious decision to make each day count, with an abundance of smiling and laughing. In her spare time, Jaime enjoys spending time with her family, being outdoors, sitting on the beach, or watching a movie. 

Natasha Tomlin, BA (Hons Psych), Service Coordinator

Natasha handles all referrals in her position as Service Coordinator.  Before beginning with us as a Rehab Assistant in 2015, then moving into the Service Coordinator position in February 2016, Natasha applied her studies to a variety of endeavors while she completed her undergrad degree in Psychology and Sociology. These included an online support site for Canadian Military wives, a study for BC Children’s Hospital and research on the psychological impact of particular architectural designs, landscaping and urban planning on individuals and on child development. She is fascinated by human interactions and the study of the brain and has a passion for helping others, particularly those who are affected by a traumatic brain injury. Natasha says “Being part of each client’s achievements with regard to their cognitive functioning and watching the positive transformation people make post-injury is so rewarding.” Goals for her clients and for herself are closely aligned; she is always aspiring to grow, to learn and to be the best version of herself possible. Natasha enjoys time with family, cooking and baking from Pinterest and sewing when the weekend rolls around.

Ian Cunningham, Accounting Technician

Ian started his foray into the bookkeeping world in January 2012 after it was discovered that he had a penchant for numbers (frequently found in talented musicians such as Ian) and a capacity to learn. Topping off those skills with an affinity for all those he encounters, Ian says “I do what I do because I love the people that I work with and it feels good to know that we’re (Seasons) making a positive difference in the lives of people in our community.” A master of the Rubik’s Cube, Ian is actually excited about all parts of the accounting cycle and is passionate about efficiency, accuracy, and the opportunity to be constantly learning. Ian plays a bazillion musical instruments very well and enjoys hangin’ with his family and friends and tinkering in the garden.

James Passmore, Custodian

James has lived in Kamloops for almost 30 years.  He is responsible for keeping the ‘Zen’ look of Seasons’ offices clean and shiny, and he brings a positive outlook on life to work with him every day.  James is an avid volunteer and contributes his time to non-profit societies that enhance the lives of seniors and people living with brain injuries.  “Volunteering helps me keep in touch and socialize with my community and is a great way to help non-profits in their work,” says James.  He reports that the Seasons’ staff is a friendly lot, which makes his workplace safe and enjoyable.  On his days off, you’ll find James washing and polishing his car, umpiring baseball games or spending time with his spouse.

Hazel Plumbley, BAS, Director of Administration

Hazel has been involved in social services since her first job as a teenager, working as a Care Aid in a residential resource for seniors in Vancouver. In addition to seniors, she has worked with people with special needs, teens in care, survivors of violence and adults living with psychiatric issues. Along the way, her career path got diverted off the front line and into supervision, management, and non-profit leadership. As the other co-founder of Seasons Consulting Group Ltd., she works in an administrative capacity to keep the Seasons engine room tidy and the turbines tuned and running. Of her professional passion, Hazel says “My biggest delight is finding ways to make exceptional work easier to do; new technologies and innovation offer timesaving options that let our practitioners flourish in their work with clients.” She believes that true compassion is the best, and likely the oldest, problem-solving model. Hazel never outgrew her childhood obsession with horses, holds a Diploma in Equine Studies and uses it to provide caretaking services to her herd of two.

Dawn MacKenzie, BSW, RRP, CVRP, Clinical Director

Fate or grand design? ‘Birthing’ Seasons was an act of love and grew out of a passion to make a difference in the world. That hasn’t changed over the years.” Co-founder of Seasons Consulting Group Ltd., Dawn has worked in the industry for 20+ years, making her extraordinary at developing services that make a difference in the lives of our clients. She says “As a social worker I have loved working directly to help people find work and become self sufficient. I love to help people feel hopeful. I think I don’t solve problems for any of my clients, but I do offer other possibilities for them to consider.” Dawn also turns her talents to quality assurance and staff training in her role as Clinical Director. Siren calls for Dawn when work is done? “My family, especially now with 3 little grandbabes.” She is also to be found on the water in her kayak, in her garden, sewing for her grandbabies, or snuggled up reading a medieval murder mystery (or anything else she can get her hands on!).
